Anthurium ‘Dark Phoenix’ × ‘Fort Sherman’ is a hybrid between Anthurium Dark Phoenix and Anthurium Fort Sherman. The plant shows strong influence from both parents: rich, dark velvety foliage from Fort Sherman and especially dramatic venation from Dark Phoenix. Leaves may have subtle variation depending on light (emerging leaves often more intensely coloured), and the shape tends toward broad heart or spade‑forms with a slight arch or gentle pendant effect in mature growth.

Because both parents are “papillilaminum‑type” selections (with Fort Sherman being a prized dark form and Dark Phoenix contributing strong veining and contrasting tones), this hybrid rewards good conditions: deeply saturated colours, strong vein contrast, and leaf texture.

Native to:
This is a cultivated hybrid; ancestors are tropical rainforest understorey species / selections native to Central and South America. The parental forms grow in shaded, humid, warm forest habitats with dappled light and rich organic soil. The hybrid retains preference for similar indoor conditions: warm, humid, low direct light, and a substrate rich in organic matter.

Water:
Water when the top third of the substrate has begun to dry; don’t allow the soil to stay soggy. Use a chunky, well‑draining mix (orchid bark, perlite, maybe a little fine sphagnum or coarse coco coir) to give air to the roots and avoid waterlogging. Let excess water drain out fully. Overwatering causes root issues; letting things get too dry will reduce leaf vibrancy and may slow growth.

Light:
Bright filtered light is best. Avoid harsh direct sun (especially afternoon sun) that can scorch or bleach the velvety surface or fade red veins. Morning or late afternoon light (filtered) or light through a sheer curtain works well. If light is insufficient, venation will be less distinct and leaf colour more uniform and muted. Supplemental lighting in winter months may help maintain colour and growth.

Humidity:
High humidity (about 65‑80 %) favours best growth and colour expression. Dry air causes browning at leaf edges, loss of sheen, and dulling of contrast. Given its size (not enormous), this hybrid can be grown in a humid enclosure or greenhouse‑style cabinet, or in moist microclimates (humidifier, grouping plants) indoors.

Temperature:
Maintain warm stable temperatures around 18‑27 °C. Avoid letting the temperature drop below ~ 15‑16 °C. Cold drafts or sudden dips in temperature will stress the plant and may reduce leaf quality or cause damage. Consistent warmth helps with bright vein contrast and healthy leaf emergence.

Indestructible
Style: Fetch Balls (Pack of 2), Size: 3 inch
These balls are indestructible! We have a lab and a lab mix and they CANNOT damage these balls. They love them for fetch and to just chew on them (slightly squishy, but NO damage). Best toys we have bought for them.

Great trial set. Just be careful throwing the orange one!
Style: Assorted Balls (Pack of 3), Size: 2.5 inch
Blue isn't that easy to see in the yard White charges with bright light/UV and is truly a game changer for night-time fetch. Both dogs clearly favor it. Orange is easy to see in the grass at day They're 3 different weights as well, so double trial. I prefer medium for my big dogs, though light performs well too The orange is HEAVY and unyielding. Do NOT throw it with a ball thrower. It could damage your house or knock your dog out. Seems tough though.

If you were looking for a sign to buy this, here it is
Color: A) Small 2.5" Ball
If you are looking for a ball that can stand up next to a heavy, aggressive chewer.. this is a good choice. Our Pitbull literally destroyed any and every toy that she gets with the exception of one kind of kong ball. She tore through the kong Frisbees, any kind of squeaker toy, and the wobble wag giggle ball (she usually always ends up destroying these but it takes a few weeks. Today she beat her record and had her brand new ball destroyed within the first 30 minutes of us taking it out of the box). But, this ball she has not been able to destroy. I'd like to believe that the Kong ball she has and this ball are made of the same material. Because they are the only balls she can't ruin. And it's not because of a lack of trying. We have watched her sit there and chew with a side of her mouth for an hour or more, trying to make some kind of indention or tear in it and it just never happened. She loves to chew this thing, chase this thing, sleep with this thing. I most certainly recommend this ball. If it is I'ah proof then it is most certainly, 100% a durable ball and worth every penny

Chew King Supreme Chew Toy
Color: B) Medium 3" Ball
So far, freaking amazing. This ball is awesome. I have a 90 lb American Bulldog. Like other reviews. Lot of " indestructible balls" lasted minimum time. Not this one. She even took it to bed with her I bought the 3 inch ball, not the 4 inch ball. The 3 inch ball works amazingly for a large Dog. Yes the 4 inch would be better. So in my opinion, either ball would be fine. As others also said. This ball keeps a active Dog busy for hours. Love to play catch. Love frozen peanut butter in it. One last thing. The price is amazing. I don't see needing to buy another, unless it is lost, because this is made to last. We couldn't be happier.
